Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how LINIE collects, uses, and shares personal information, and what rights you have over it. It covers the LINIE website and platform at linie.design, the client sharing portal, and the “Save to Linie” browser extension.

Who Is Responsible

LINIE is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights set out below, contact adikariv@madebykariv.com.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

Account Information

  • Name
  • Email address

Usage Data

  • Interactions with the platform
  • Project lists created by users

Technical Information

  • Browser type
  • Device information
  • IP address

We do not store raw IP addresses for visitor statistics. Our daily visitor count combines your IP address and browser type with a secret value that changes each day and stores only the irreversible result, which cannot be linked back to you or across days.

Browser Extension Data

When you click Save in the “Save to Linie” extension, it reads the address, title, product details, and images of the page you are viewing and sends them to LINIE so the product can be added to your project. The extension reads a page only when you choose to save it, never in the background, and does not track your browsing.

Advertising Data

If, and only if, you consent to marketing cookies, the Meta Pixel records that you viewed a page on LINIE and transmits this together with your IP address to Meta. See Cookie Policy for the detail.

How We Use Information

We use collected data to:

  • Operate and maintain the platform
  • Improve product functionality
  • Communicate with users
  • Maintain security and prevent misuse
  • Measure the performance of our advertising, where you have consented

We do not sell personal data. We do not use data collected by the browser extension for advertising, and we do not share it with advertising networks.

Data Storage

User account data and project information may be stored on secure servers to enable the functionality of the service.

Data Sharing

We may share information with:

  • Hosting and database providers that run the platform on our behalf
  • An email delivery provider, used to send account and service messages
  • An error-monitoring provider, used to diagnose technical faults
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, but only where you have consented to marketing cookies
  • Legal authorities when required by law

Our hosting, email, and error-monitoring providers act as processors: they may handle personal data only on our instructions. Meta acts as an independent controller for the data the Meta Pixel collects, meaning Meta decides how it uses that data under its own privacy policy.

International Transfers

Some of the providers listed above are located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on the safeguards permitted under Chapter V of the GDPR, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision covering the recipient. You may request further information about these safeguards using the contact address above.

User Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Request a portable copy of the data you provided to us
  • Object to, or request restriction of, processing based on our legitimate interests
  • Withdraw your consent to marketing cookies at any time, using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place beforehand.
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority

Requests can be sent to adikariv@madebykariv.com

Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to operate the service or comply with legal obligations.

Legal Basis for Processing

We rely on different legal bases depending on the purpose:

  • Performance of a contract — to create and maintain your account and provide the platform you have signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent misuse, diagnose technical faults, and understand aggregate usage. We have assessed that this processing does not override your rights, in part because our visitor statistics do not identify you.
  • Consent — for marketing cookies and the Meta Pixel. These are used only if you choose “Accept all”, and you may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.
